Hello all,
Hope you all are staying cool on this hot summer day. As much as I love summer, I'm looking forward to the cool down of the fall. The humidity here is killing me!
I've had some questions lately as to how I build up my upper body. My work outs consist of two muscle groups per day. One day I do back/biceps, one day of triceps/chest, one day dedicated to shoulders, and one leg day. I also incorporate at least 30 minutes of cardio three days per week to keep myself lean. My favorite exercises are chin ups, bicep curls, and bench press. Nutrition is also key to building up muscle mass. I eat a LOT of protein (one gram per pound of bodyweight), healthy carbs (sweet potatoes, oats, whole wheat bread), and a ton of veggies. Without proper nutrition, a person can work out a ton, but not see results, so treat your body right, and it'll treat you right back.
I've also had quite a few people lately tell me that I look like I have some Native American blood in me. In fact, my grandmother has always told me that we have some Cherokee Indian blood that runs in my family. Whether this is true or not, I'm not sure...
Keep the questions coming. Thanks for reading everyone! Have a great day and go Cardinals!
Until next time,

Hello to all my fitness loving friends!
I hope you all are enjoying reading this as much as I am enjoying writing it. Check back often, because you never know what this gal may say!!!
Today Kevin and I met up at Phelps Grove park here in Springfield to take pictures of me on my motorcycle. I had a blast on my Buell Blast! Hopefully, the pics will be up soon so you guys can see me show my stuff. Make sure you get a copy of the new dvd too. You'll get a chance to see the behind the scenes look at how Nyssa works it out, plus a few more surprises you'll just have to find out! I had a great time filming it, and I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks about it. Don't forget to email me your questions or comments. I'd love to hear from you. I'm always just a click away!
I just want to say a big thank you to everyone on this site for your support and motivation. You guys are awesome! You have no idea what a thrill it is to have you here. I feel so blessed and thankful to have you on the team. I know that life has big plans for me, and the best is yet to come!!!
Love always,

Wow, this summer is just flying by! I can't believe my classes start back up in less than a month. Until then, I'm taking full advantage of what little spare time I do have putting in some good work outs. Monday was a cardio day. Tuesday was back & biceps day (my personal fav). I start out with a light weight and work my way up until failure. On Wednesday, I was going to run, but mother nature put a stop to that with quite a thunderstorm. So instead, I worked out my legs. It seems like every time I do legs, I always feel it the next day. Well, I'm definitely feeling them today! I ran pretty far this morning. I ran over to Jordan Valley Park, Hammonds Field, and all over the MSU campus. I like getting out at around 5am. It's so peaceful and the city looks so beautiful at that time of morning. Running gives you a different perspective that you will never see driving. Plus the endorphins are great!
I really love the way my abs are looking now. Since I've upped my cardio, I can definitely tell a difference. During the winter, I usually do less cardio to concentrate more on building up muscle mass. This usually means I gain a few pounds too in the process, but since I'm usually covered up in warm clothes, it never shows. However, it being summer now, I want to be as lean as possible. I like to show off my hard work. The stares are priceless!
I'm off to Tulsa to watch my big bro get married! You guys have a great weekend. Lift heavy. Train hard. Talk to you soon.

Hey guys! I am very proud to announce that I have officially been handed the reins to the site to add my own section! I'd love to hear whatever comments or questions you have to ask me. As you may know, I am working my way to becoming a professional personal trainer, so you guys can help me out by offering me whatever questions you may have. I hope to hear from all of you!
As for my workout today, I went for an early (5am!) run this morning. I'm trying to lean out as much as possible, due to a possible fitness competition I may enter next month. When I was about halfway home, it started pouring down rain on me! I was soaked by the time I made it back home. That's dedication!!!
Take care everyone.
